The ski touring paradise Valle Maira in the province of Cuneo is definitely worth discovering and getting to know this winter! Quiet and secluded mountain villages attract us to this ski tour paradise far down in the south of the Alps in Piedmont. Light larch forests or steep gullies? Generous ski touring slopes on peaks with exotic-sounding names? If you feel like it and like fine food and drink after the tours, you've come to the right place! Often there is powder snow several meters high and it can get crisply cold - the humid air from the nearby Mediterranean provides regular supplies. The hosts in our stylishly renovated hotel in Chiappera provide comfort and spoil us with local delicacies.
A common journey via Turin will be organized by us from Schaffhausen.

Safe skiing in all types of snow. Good condition for slow ascents for 3 - 4 h and corresponding descents. 1000 - 1400 hm/day.

Price/person: CHF 1'780
Day 1: Meeting point in the morning at Schaffhausen railway station at 9:00 a.m., common journey by car via Milan to Cuneo and Valle Maira. Arrive late afternoon, set up at hotel in Acceglio/Chiappera (1612 m). Walk, dinner and tour planning for the next day. If you prefer to arrive individually, we will meet for dinner at 19:00 at the hotel.
2nd - 5th day: After a good night's sleep enjoy a nice breakfast. Daily ski tours from Chiappera, Acceglio and Viviere. There is a wide range of options available. Even in case of snowfall and bad visibility, the light larch forests are ideal for exciting tours and descents. Generous slopes above the tree line give us room for wonderful ski tours to steep peaks. A local shuttle bus is available for crossings.
Day 6: Check-out and last ski tour. In the early afternoon we drive via Milan back to Switzerland.
