Some info...
New: now with optimal acclimatisation concept, one extra day longer! Even if you are very busy at work or with your family you should have the possibility to visit this unique mountain! After 8 days you will successfully stand on the summit, on the 12th day you will be back again and have experienced wonderful, intensive days! Enjoy the sunrise at an altitude of almost 6000 meters during the summit ascent! Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and rises out of the mist of the Masai steppe far into the East African sky. The summit still bears a distinctive silver ice cap. This mountain has not only inspired Hemingway. The "snow on Kilimanjaro" offers for many active people material for dreaming of an unforgettable Africa adventure. We have a proven travel structure without "stress program". Important for us is a good acclimatization so that you can reach the summit under the best conditions. The difficulty corresponds to a challenging hiking tour in the Alps, but you will be moving at high altitudes. Trust in my enormous altitude experience from my time as a guide at Mount Everest and the 8000 summits of the Himalayas. You will successfully and healthy climb the summit! The return flight is always late in the evening, always on Saturday. During the day there is still time to hang out at the pool or go on a short safari!

Day 1: Flight via Amsterdam/Istanbul to Arusha Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). Arrival in the evening and drive to the hotel in Marangu.
Day 2: Sleep late and arrive. Acclimatization and village tour in Marangu, the home village of the Chaggas. Packing and final preparations for the mountain tour. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (1600 m)
Day 3: Ascent through the mountain rainforest to the Mandara huts (2700 m). Before dinner we explore the Maundi crater. Overnight stay in Mandara huts.
Day 4: We left the beautiful forest and climbed through open savannahs and heathlands to the Horombo huts (3700 m). Idyllically situated by a stream and mighty Senezien trees.
Day 5: Acclimatization day: leisurely hike to the Zebra Rocks (4000 m) or to East Lava Hill (4350 m). This day is very important to get used to higher altitudes. Descent back to the Horombo Huts. Lunch and enjoy the beautiful landscape.
Day 6: Second acclimatization day: already better adapted to the high altitude air, we climb over a ridge to East Lava Hill (4350 m) and further on to the lonely Mawenzi Hut (4480 m). Today we stay in the high altitude for a few hours and acclimatize perfectly. This day was newly introduced by Hermann, so that you can really enjoy the summit day. In the pathless scree we test our coordination and strength for the summit day. Descent back to the Horombo huts.
7th day: Today we will go up to high altitudes, our ascent to the "high camp" of the Kibo huts, which are almost as high as the Montblanc in the Alps. Passing beautiful senesias and always with a view of the glaciers of Kibo, we climb up to the Kibo hut (4700 m). Here we spend only a short night and set off towards the summit around midnight. Overnight stay at the Kibo hut. Our good acclimatisation will now prove its worth - you will sleep better and be more productive during the night, thus increasing the enjoyment factor.
8th day: Big summit day: At midnight we start walking and by sunrise we are already at Gilmans Point (5700 m). Along the crater rim we hike to the highest point of Africa, the Uhuru Peak (5895 m). Shortly before the summit we touch the old ice of the southern glaciers. After an extensive summit rest we climb back to the Kibo hut. After the lunch break we return to the Horombo hut, satisfied and tired.
9th day: In the early morning you walk happily into the sunrise. Simply wonderful after such a big tour. We are back in Marangu for a late lunch, enjoying the first hot shower in days in the hotel. In the evening we say goodbye to the porter team at a party in the hotel garden. Tipping, celebrating together and singing, Davis gives his best at the drums and you will receive your summit certificate. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: Sleep in, have a good breakfast and after a last walk through the village we leave Marangu and drive on to Moshi. In the hotel the pool and cool drinks are waiting for us. A BBQ evening rounds off the day. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: optional you can still go on a safari in Arusha National Park today. The green highlands around Momella Game Lodge and Hatari Lodge (John Wayne and Hardy Krüger Memories) flood the senses with exuberant nature and many species of animals including elephants and buffalo. (Surcharge approx. USD 110 - 150 / person incl. lunch and coffee at Hatari Lodge). The markets in Moshi and Arusha are also worth seeing. Or you can make yourself comfortable with a book at the hotel pool! There is plenty of time today, the plane does not leave until late evening.
In the evening (approx. 21:00) return flight to Europe or onward journey: In the late afternoon we drive to Kilimanjaro Airport near Arusha (JRO).
12th day: Arrival in Amsterdam in the morning and flight to your destination airport or Zurich.
