This weekend isn't about training, coaching, or competitive events. It's an invitation to explore the mountains together, share experiences, and take a break from everyday life for a few days.
This long weekend is for men who enjoy spending time in the mountains. It's not for competitive athletes. It's not for extreme mountaineers.
Good basic fitness for daily hikes of 5–7 hours
Sure-footedness on mountain trails and rocky terrain
The Joy of Exercise in an Alpine Setting
No mountaineering or glacier experience required
Openness to shared experiences in a small group
Age doesn't matter—what counts is motivation and health
Day 1 – Travel to Arolla
Travel independently to Arolla in the Val d’Hérens, one of Switzerland’s most unspoiled Alpine valleys.
In the late afternoon, we'll meet at the historic Grand Hotel Kurhaus. After checking into our rooms, we'll get to know each other over dinner and discuss the schedule for the coming days.
Overnight stay: Grand Hotel Kurhaus, Arolla
Meals: Dinner
Day 2 – Arolla – Glacier de Pièce – Cabane des Vignettes
After breakfast, we set out right from the hotel. Our route takes us through the alpine landscape of Arolla and across the Glacier de Pièce up to the spectacularly situated Cabane des Vignettes at 3,157 meters.
Along the way, there’s time for breaks, conversations, and taking in the impressive glacial landscape surrounding the Pigne d’Arolla, Mont Collon, and the peaks of the Haute Route.
In the afternoon, we'll reach the cabin and enjoy the evening high above the valley.
Walking time: about 5–6 hours
Promotion: approx. 1,100 meters of elevation gain
Overnight stay: Cabane des Vignettes
Meals: Breakfast, packed lunch, dinner
Day 3 – Cabane des Vignettes – Col d’Évêque – Haute Glacier d’Arolla – Arolla
After breakfast, we leave the hut and hike up to the Col d’Évêque (3,371 m). From here, we’re treated to a breathtaking view of the glaciers and mountains between Switzerland and Italy.
Our route then takes us back toward the valley via the Haute Glacier d’Arolla. At a leisurely pace, we traverse one of the most impressive high-mountain landscapes in the Valais before returning to Arolla.
In the evening, we'll enjoy a farewell dinner together at the Grand Hotel Kurhaus.
Walking time: about 6–7 hours
Promotion: approx. 250 meters in elevation
Relegation: approx. 1,350 meters of elevation gain
Overnight stay: Grand Hotel Kurhaus, Arolla
Meals: Breakfast, packed lunch, dinner
If conditions are excellent and the group is motivated, there is also the option of climbing the Pigne d’Arolla (3,790 m).
Day 4 – Wrap-up and Return Home
After breakfast together, there will be time for one last cup of coffee and a chance to catch up on the past few days before we each head home.
Meals: Breakfast
Some info...
Three days in the mountains. No seminar room. No pressure to perform.
Arolla is located at the end of the unspoiled Val d’Hérens, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful and authentic Alpine valleys. Surrounded by glaciers, four-thousand-meter peaks, and traditional Valais villages, the region offers a rare blend of Alpine wilderness, tranquility, and unspoiled charm. It’s the ideal place to take a break from everyday life for a few days and immerse yourself in the mountain world.
This program is designed for men who feel that their daily lives often revolve around responsibilities, deadlines, and expectations. In the mountains, something different happens. As you climb together, in the cabin, and along the trail, conversations arise that you can’t plan for.
It's not about therapy. It's not about coaching. And it's not about becoming someone else.
It’s about spending time together in the mountains, genuine encounters, and the experience of simply being human for a few days. The mountains create a space for this that we rarely find in our everyday lives.
