Some info...

The Khumbu area is the land of the famous Sherpas. But we do not climb the summit of Mount Everest, but hike through the high valleys of the Sherpaland and the "Sargamatha" National Park almost to the foot of the highest summit on earth. Mount Everest, which Hermann Berie climbed himself a few years ago, can be seen from only ten kilometres away. Our local team consists only of experienced Sherpas and Nepali who live and work in the high mountains. To the Iceland-Peak you will be accompanied by trained Sherpas with Mount-Everest-experience. The trekking tour passes Buddhist prayer shrines and monasteries, yak pastures and Sherpa villages and takes you up to the turquoise shimmering lakes in front of magical 8000m peaks. Yaks and our own porter crew carry most of the equipment and your luggage. You just carry your daypack. Climb Gokyo Ri (5363m) and Kala Pattar (5643m) on the way. Well acclimatized you will cross the Cho-La-Pass (5420 m), the Kongma-La-Pass and if you like you can climb the glaciated 6000m Island Peak (Imja Tse 6189 m). A visit to the monasteries of Tengboche and Thame and the old royal towns in the Kathmandu valley round off the trip culturally. A report from the "Spiegel" - Trekking to Mount Everest
