Some info...
From the Klausen pass between Uri and the canton of Glarus, the view wanders far out into the foothills. Grazing animals and dairy farming characterise the picture up here on the Urnerboden, the cheese tastes of alpine herbs and the air is crystal clear. You can spend the night before in the historic hotel here. Above the pass, two strikingly beautiful peaks rise into the sky, the Clariden (3267 m) and the Gross Schärhorn (3295 m), the mighty Tödi is within reach. The ascent is long but exciting, you will conquer the "Iswändli" before the Chammlijoch, before the ridge to the Clariden summit is waiting. Secluded at the edge of the bizarre hüfi firn lies the renovated Planura hut, where you will spend the evening and stay overnight. Over the glacier and the Gross Schärhorn, you will return to the herb meadows on the Klausenpass.
