1st day: Meeting point in the morning in Grächen, Mattertal. Ascent through the summery larch forest from Grächen to the Bordierhütte. Over paths to the moraine and over the Riedgletscher, which is easy to cross (markings). Steep final ascent over rocks with iron pins to the Bordierhütte.
Day 2: Via the glacier foreland we reach the edge of the mighty ice stream. On the glacier we hike through a wild labyrinth of crevasses and faults in the ice, then reach the Riedpass and climb up to the beautiful Ulrichshorn. A breathtaking view of the Lenzspitze and the Nadelgrat in the Mischabel group awaits you! A long and exciting descent over the Windjoch and the Hohbalmgletscher leaves no room for boredom. After a stop at the Mischabel hut we climb over steep rocks secured with wire ropes down to Hannigalp. With the cable car we float the last meters of altitude directly to Saas Fee.

Some info...
The Bordier Hut SAC (2886 m) is one of the most characteristic huts in the Valais Alps. Small, cosy and with a fantastic location at the foot of the lonely Riedgletscher. Through green and summer-fresh larch forests, you hike leisurely from Grächen in the Mattertal up to the ice stream. The glacier can be easily crossed below a mighty ice break-off. Shortly before sunset, the ibexes creep up to the hut and can be observed at close quarters. The Ulrichshorn is almost 4000 m high, but much easier to climb than the big 4000 m peaks of the Mischabel chain, which also includes the Dom. An interesting descent to Saas Fee awaits you on the second day. Plenty of time for looking and observing and still be challenged by sports - all this is offered by this wonderful mountain adventure in the Valais between Grächen and Saas Fee.
