Ski Mont Blanc - Top of Alps
Your way to the roof of the Alps - with skis and inner strength
Experience the magic of the highest mountain in the Alps in a particularly impressive way: with skis and crampons on the historic Grand Mulets route. This 3-day high-altitude ski tour takes you through a high-alpine glacier world, past ice towers and over the Bosses ridge to the roof of the Alps, at 4810 m, to the summit of Mont Blanc in the Chamonix valley.
To be on the safe side (Midi crossing in the afternoon) we spend two nights at the Grand Mulets hut. This allows us to concentrate fully on the highest peak in the Alps on day 2.

The facts
By arrangement in April and May, possible until the beginning of June
Requirement level: Advanced
For this demanding high altitude ski tour you should be very confident in controlling your skis in all types of snow, also on exposed passages in steep slopes and through glaciated terrain. Experience in handling the rope in glaciated terrain is an advantage. You should already have experience with easier ski tours (e.g. BERIE Level I) in order to have no problems with steep ascents with hairpin bends. A very good condition for demanding ski tours in the high mountains of 6 - 8 hours is the basis to enjoy this tour.

Complete organization of the trip
Arrival in Chamonix, Argentiere "Hotel de la Couronne" the evening before for briefing and equipment check. Equipment check and discussion of the tour over dinner.
Day 1: Breakfast and drive to Chamonix. Cable car to the Aiguille du Midi (Plan de l'Aiguille middle station). Ascent and descent under the Midi to the Bosson glacier, continue through the Jonction crevasse zone to the spectacularly situated Refuge des Grands Mulets (3051 m). Dinner, overnight stay.
Day 2: An early start in the dark with headlamps. We climb through the corridor over the Petite Plateau towards the Dome du Gouter and the Bosses ridge to the summit - a challenging but unforgettable stage. Break at the Vallot bivouac. The unforgettable descent leads via the north flank or the ascent route back to the hut. Dinner, overnight stay.
Day 3: After a restful night, we descend to the Bossons glacier and cross back under the Midi flank to the cable car at the Plan de l'Aiguille and on to Chamonix. In April, it is usually possible to ski down to Chamonix to the Mont Blanc tunnel.
Mont Blanc ski tour: are you up to the challenge?
The summit is at 4810 m. Ideally, you have already done tours over 300 m in the days before? We will be happy to advise you on how to prepare.
1700 - 1800 meters of ascent to over 4800 m will challenge your body and mind. You should be used to ascents of several hours with a rucksack at high altitudes. It is also important that you know how to use crampons safely and have experience of ski touring on glaciers, so that you can also ski down challenging terrain in difficult conditions.
The tour leads through high alpine terrain with crevasses, the risk of falling and avalanches. With an experienced mountain guide, good planning and caution, the risk is calculable - but never zero. Safety is our top priority.
