Day 1
Arrival in Arolla. Meeting point in the village centre in front of "Bournissen Sport" (small sports shop) at 11:52 a.m. (Postbus from Sion), welcome and then check-in and luggage depot and at the Hotel Kurhaus. Afterwards, we have enough time for a leisurely afternoon tour from the small ski area (platter lifts-very rustic) of Arolla under the steep slopes of Mont Doli, La Cassort and La Roussette. Beautiful variants of the descent directly in front of our cosy, historic hotel in the dreamlike Swiss stone pine forest above Arolla. Let us surprise you!
Day 2
Depending on the conditions, you and your BERIE guide select the tours from the wide range on offer: Arolla is situated at an altitude of over 2000 m and you start every day right outside the hotel door. We shorten some ascents by using the ski lifts and enjoy wonderfully long descents down to Evolène and Les Haudères. Steep rides down to Lac Bleu near La Gouille and Satarma await you under the Aiguilles Rouges. A short bus ride from Evolène also takes us to the panoramic summit of the Pointe du Tsaté (3077 m) with views of Lac de Moiry and the towering Dent Blanche on the other side of the valley!
Due to our "home advantage", we know our way around here very well. In the meantime, I would say that Arolla is one of my favourite areas in summer or winter.
Day 3
Ascent to the Cabane des Dix (2928 m) from Arolla via the Pas de Chevre. (2855 m)
If the snow is good, a tour towards La Luete (3548 m) is possible in the afternoon. The view from the hut terrace of the Pigne or the Mont Blanc de Cheilon is always unique, the south side guarantees plenty of sunshine. Overnight stay at the Cabane des Dix.
Day 4
Highlight of the tour: the early morning start and ascent to the Pigne d'Arolla and the descent (with a stop for lunch at the Cabane des Vignette) back to Arolla. Breathtaking and definitely the most beautiful descent of the Haute Route. Finish on the sun terrace or in the garden of the Hotel Kurhaus. Journey home.
