Ski tours high above the mighty glacier in the Jungfraujoch and Upper Valais region. In an impressive and unspoilt landscape you will tour the best ski mountains in the region, which are usually easy to reach without technical difficulties with the skins. The downhill runs are simply magnificent and breathtakingly beautiful in this environment. Until May there is always powder snow at this altitude and in the afternoon you can enjoy the spring sunshine on the hut terrace of the modern and cosy Finsteraarhorn Hut. A brilliant finish is the steep descent down into Goms, Upper Valais to Reckingen. The trip is designed so that you can arrive comfortably by train and after the last descent you can comfortably board the train back to Spiez. Come with us to this unique experience in the mountains!

The facts

You should be able to control your skis in all kinds of snow. Experience in the glacier terrain is an advantage. You should already have experience with easier ski touring (e.g. BERIE level I) in order to have no problems even with steep climbs. Condition for medium-heavy ski mountaineering in the high mountains from 4 – 6 hours in the ascent and enough breaks.

4 days guided ski mountaineering tours with certified mountain and ski guide UIAGM/IFMGA (4 days)
3 x overnight stays + half board / marsch tea / sandwich as lunch in SAC huts in MBZ / camp
Complete organization of the trip
Day 1: Meeting point in Grindelwald-Grund and train ride to the Jungfraujoch (3569 m). Descent and subsequent ascent to Lowihorn (3777 m). Beautiful descent to Konkordiaplatz and ascent (metal stairs) to the Konkordiahütte. (2850 m)
2nd day: Ascent over the Grüneggfirn to the Grünhornlücke (3286 m) - breathtaking view of the Finsteraarhorn. Acclimatisation tour to Wysnollen (3595 m) and descent to Finsteraarhornhütte (3048 m).
Day 3: Day trip from the Finsteraarhornhütte to the fantastic Gross Wannenhorn (3905 m). Well acclimatized you tour to the summit of the almost 4000 m high ski mountain with the wild glacier fields. An epic descent, often in the best powder snow down to the Fiescher Glacier, is the reward for the long ascent. The rest of the afternoon: Chilling on the sun terrace of the hut with cold drinks!
Day 4: Farewell to the Bernese Oberland! Descent and last steep ascent to Bächilücke. The last descent back to the villages in the Upper Valais is endless, where the first spring flowers are already sprouting. End at the station in Reckingen and return by train in the direction of Spiez or back to Grindelwald/ Interlaken-Ost.
